B&M 24K....haven't driven it a lot yet, but getting on it and having some fun I spiked at 200* but stayed pretty steady at 180*. HIghway cruising was around 160* but I'll have to take it out again and test it out further. I do believe I'm going to have to come up with something different this summer though....it gets pretty damn hot here.

I just did a ss3600. I was on the edge about going with the ss4000. I talked with Dave and he said 3.73's really help with the 4000 so it does not feel so loose. I decided I wanted to keep the gears that I have until the 10 bolt breaks. But it seems like the 4000 responds like my 3600 so I guess I should have bumped it up. I do really like the 3600 and am 100% satisfied with how it woke up the car.

I was planning on doing 3.73's when I decided on the SS4000, but I really think I am going to hold off now. I really don't see the need as I am more than satisfied with the way it drives now. My friends have ridden with me and they too are amazed at how tight it is. I think I'll save that money for something else.

off topic but...
Do you have a bigger trans pan? I was wondering if I need to get one, or if its one of thoughs things, its nice to have but not necessary.

I don't yet, but I plan on getting one soon. I think it'll help, but not necessary for my application.

Is a deeper sump really needed as long as you have proper cooling from a tranny cooler?

Yes as the fluid volume is now lower that factory fill, as the stock converter holds more fluid then the smaller converter body has a smaller volume and you must make up the loss of about 3 qt's of fluid to keep the system stable
you know have around 8 qts not 11

I am looking forward to March for sure. I'll have to look at the schedule if it's out yet. As soon as the track opens, there are several of us from this area that are planning to come over and have some fun.

I don't see the logic here ... if both converters are full to capacity what difference would it make? Wouldn't adding more fluid to compensate for a small verter just cause the tranny to be over-full?
Congratulations on the new converter, btw ... hope it works great for you!

He's talking about the advantage a bigger pan has with a smaller converter. Gets you back to close to the same volume of fluid as stock. I would guess more fluid will be better for heat dissipation.
