Ok I'm either going to be going with an SS3600 or SS4000 depending on my final cam choice. The problem is I wanted to install the converter and the cam both at the same time and tune the car immediatly but am afraid it will ruin the converter since it will be going WOT before the 150 mile break in is complete am i correct in thinking this or will it be ok?

Reading that it makes me believe you can't go get a tune, which sucks since I will be installing everything this weekend and I am going to have to drive a car for 150 miles that probably does not want to run.

 

I would do the converter first. They aren't in the same place on the car anyway.

 

Yeah just wait a week its only 150 miles. Unless you took time off to do it all then I understand. I was thiking just like you but I decided to slip the converter in first and drive it for a while and do the cam later. That way you can appreciate how much a converter helps. I have the 3600 and it is awesome. I have heard decription of how the 4000 acts and it seems exactly like mine.

i drove 150 miles in less than a week, hell i drove about 100 miles to my tuner

 

I was doing WOT blasts within about 25 miles of installing the Yank TC in my Trans Am. Never caused any ill side effects for me.....

 

I would'nt take that kind of a chance with that kinda of money.I know it's hard to wait but it would proably be in the best interest of the convertor.

 

When I first installed my Yank, I just drove the 150 easy miles. Whats the big deal? If thats what they suggest, and they will warranty it if it breaks, play by the rules.

 

installed mine, drove it around the block a few times, and on the dyno it went... that was about 8k miles ago, hasn't missed a beat
