Default bumping RL in 2-3 shift

i recently put a cam and 4000 stall in my car. after being tuned it bumps the 2-3 shift off the rev limiter several times. torque managment is all the way gone on the motor. how can this problem be rectified?

i heard that there is a certian value that can be changed to completely remody the bumping of the rev limiter. i know im not the first guy with this problem so id like to know what you guys did to solve the problem

What are your shift points at? Change the 2-3 shift point -1000 rpms from where you want it to shift. (i.e. 6000 shift point = 5000 rpms via HP Tuners) If it still hits the rev limiter it's the clutch packs.

if the clutch packs are going bad (or already have) wouldn't the trans slip when 3rd gear does engage? otherwise it would seem like a tuning problem.

cop car - you **** is slow...stop being a ***** and get a th350 with a 'brake already.

No because under light throttle they may engage fine but full throttle is a very different story a set of burned or excessive clearance clutches will silp to much on apply

after my converter was installed, i bounced off the limiter on the 2-3 shift a few times. Tuning fixed the problem. My friend had the same issue and he had a built tranny with very few miles. He tuned it and the problem was gone.

Yes it could be either , I would of course do the easiest first and check the tuning and wok with it , Then if you cant fix it from there go into the trans

its not the transmission, its fine. we are rulling it out completely at this point.

there is something with the computer that can be changed to make it stop doing it. what is it? s346k had his red line at like 6200 and shift point at 5800 and it would still do it. i need to know the specific thing that was changed with the tuning (my tuner isnt so great with auto trans tuning)

I don't remember where but I do know that one member here had to set his RPM at 5200 in order to shift by 6200 I think thats correct , You do in any case have to allow for the difference between commanded and actual shift mechanically

Yes, it was me. Please see post # 2 in this thread

This is what mine is set at:

1-2: 6200
2-3: 5100
3-4: 6200

Fuel Cutoff at 6700. It shifts at 6200 on every shift and doesn't hit the limiter anymore.

Shift points are controlled by a combination of MPH and RPM settings. It needs to meet both parameters to shift. You might need to adjust both. Try lowering the WOT MPH on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts by 3-4 mph and fine tune by playing with the RPM settings.

It would help if you would let us know what year and what tuning software your using.

Just go you guys understand, we have had some crappy weather here. With that we were unable to do any WOT tuning or transmission adjustments. This was just a base tune until the weather breaks and then we are going to finalize it. We tried a 60mph roll and it just blows the tires up. Once we get some good weather and traction, the tranny issues will be resolved.
