Hardened input shaft assembly
Does anybody know were I can purchase a high performance hardened input assembly for a 4l60e and about how much they cost. I checked a few of the sponsers sites but they didn't list a parts price list.

i would go with the torque drive package, hardened input shaft and special drum
i have had this in my 10 sec z28 4l60e for 3 years now with no problems
this one is for early style 4l60e, you can get them for the ls1 style also

I, along with some transmission builders do not like the "Torque Drive" package. Their quality is poor. True they have had some success, but the stock input shaft does quite well in the vast majority of cases. I have them in many 9, 10, & 11 second vehicles without the input shaft itself ever presenting a problem, in fact I have never had a input shaft break on me. I do install the steel sleeve in the input drum to prevent the input shaft from splitting open the input drum. This rarely happens though.

its is true the stock input shaft breakin is very rare as is brealing the drum , I have only ever seen one instance of each and in each case there were mitigating factors. If i was going to spend money i would probably spend it else where. or just get one with the sleeve installed as mentioned by PBA
