Default What pan with SS4000

Ok so I'm going to be order all the stuff for my converter install this week which is the SS4000, trans go HD2 shift kit, and B&M 24K cooler. I have heard that since an aftermarket converter takes less fluid then the stock one a bigger pan should be used as well to make up for the lost fluid capacity. Anyone have any suggestions on which one to run preferably one with a drain plug?

Volume in the converter doesn't matter, you just fill to
dipstick level regardless.

I like the truck pan because it's durable (took off a deep
aluminum one because I kept tagging speed bumps with it
and steel will just dent, not crack). Do not have the P/N
but any older (like '02) Silverado pan ought to do. Check
the PerformanceTrucks site classifieds maybe. Later on
they eliminated the drain plug I gather. The truck pan
and truck filter put the pickup deeper in the juice which
can help with hard-cornering pickup starvation if the
fluid level is low.

you already have 12+ quarts of capacity it is not a problem and the converter capacity has nothing to do with trans capacity

the bigger pan is used for cooling. i used a 2 quart B&M pan.. still hangs down to low for my prefrences...

yes a smaller aftermarket converter is going to take less fluid, but its not that much less.

all that is going to happen is the smaller converter will displace a bit less fuid. just fill to dip stick and don't wory about it.
