I have a stock 98 TA and am planning to get a converter in a couple of weeks I have a 342's in the stock 10 bolt is that too big of a converter or am I good? I was planning to get a TSP H/C for later on this summer.

depends on the converter manufacturer if i did get one it would be a tighter one for sure

What is the difference between the SS4000 and the PT4000?

 

I have a bolt on Z28 with 4.10s and a Fuddle 4400 stall. I have no carpet/sound deadener and open dual exhaust cutouts. Dailydrive it 50HW and 20-30 non-HW miles a day. I wouldn't have it any other way. Nothing's better than running low 12s on SI...well...besides maybe 10s on H/C.

Either way get some sticky *** rubber. I had MT ET streets (28in) for the end of the summer and it launched like a ******* sling shot. I have some generic Z-rated tires for the winter and she'll spin through 1st and 2nd and break loose on dry pavement at 40mph. Just be prepared!

 

Are you keeping the car on motor? If so, I would go no smaller than a 4000 if you want decent results out of the car. I have a TCI 4500 in my bolton only car, and I daily drive it. (Even in the -10* we are experiencing in Chicago)

 

it's gonna stay all motor and it's also a DD I was thinking more of a fuddle converter because of the price I would love to get a yank but I have to put a whole lot of money into some other parts on my car. So I'll be good with a 4200? The car is gonna have the usual bolt on's B&B catback,pacesetters LT's,ORY,ls6 IM,ported TB and so on..... The car has 118 and counting on the clock and since it's a DD I know I will have to get a tranny cooler. So what times should I expect with the 4200 and a almost full bolt car with no H/C or spray?

 

if your staying N/A go big or go home. I have a PT4000 and its pretty awesome. It takes some gettin used to for DD and taking off from stop lights. But thats it really.
