Default gears for A4 Supercharged C5

want to add a little more pickup at the launch and at the track in my dailt driver C5 99 A4 with ati P-1SC w/ intercoolers, headers, exhaust, 3.15 gears and stk TC.Should I go for 3.42's or 3.73's (only drive 25-20 mi/day). Car makes 452 rwhp, 433rwtq. Plan to get DR's for the track (maybe et street setup). What are the chances of blowing my stock tranny with the current and planned mods? Should I get the SY 3500? Can I drive the car for a couple of days before getting the reprogram since the transmission guy doesn't do progamming? Thanks

I don't really nail the gas on the street, just every now and then. are you guys paranoid about the planned mods or what I have now?

I have the ST3500 in my z28 and it's sick on a roll. I use et streets right now and it hauls out of the hole as well. That's a good choice for a Forced Induction car. But your tranny and rear end might not like launching on et streets with that much hp. It's not as loose as most people made it out to be. I likey.

I might be wrong but street tires should help preserve your tranny.

urslooow,

Ya know, I'm having an ARE 436 installed next week, along with an FLP level IV tranny and a Strange 12 bolt. I expect 480 RWHP/480 RWTQ.
My car will be a street monster only, no track, and I went through the same headache for months asking the same questions; do I upgrade the tranny and rear-end?
I learned from everyone on this site and the other site that it was in my best interest because my stock stuff will not last. It's those 2nd-3rd shifts that throw a beatin on your tranny as well as a launch.
If you have the green, upgrade, or take it easy on the pedal.

Supercharged cars like taller gears, so if you make a swap at all, 3.42's would be the way to go.

But you should give Mike at Yank a call, he makes a converter just for Forced Induction applications. Yank. As for the programming, as long as you don't change gears you'll be fine.

I'd get a converter and leave the gears alone for now. A SY 3500 would be fine. It will add all the power that drag radials can handle and you will not have to turn high rpms on the highway. Even a 3000 stall would probably be adequate if drag radials are in use, if want a tighter feel than a Sy 3500.

I'm sure that's what Quickin was thinking about.
