I was thinking of putting it in whatever gear is most effective at the speed your going, hammer down and then immediatly putting it in od so it shifts when it wants to. I cant to 3rd because my 2-3 shift will hit the rev limitier. In od its fine.

I alway's manual shift my automatic .The reason is that if your shift point's are lower than you peak power point's you are loosing time. From a 30 or 40 I am in 2nd gear and manualy shift to 3rd and then 4th.If you are at wide open throttle then your transmission pressure should be the same in any gear,I would think.

For the record..roll racing is gay!!! dead stop owns all and is a real drag race.

but when i do roll race ill pull it down to 1st anything under 30 and throw it up to D after i punch it. Dont do any racing higher than that theres no point, my top end blows big weenies!! Low and midrange how ever are the *****!!

I just manually shift mine, so it isn't an issue.

Ya im with everyone else. When I race from a roll I just put it in whatever gear it should be in for the speed then immediately go to OD when i punch it and let it shift itself. That way it gets the jump like a manual but shifts even quicker.
