So how much of gain would I expect out of 3.73 over 3.23? Or even 3.42? It would have to be a trade off since like I said, I drive on the highway a lot. But if there is enough to gain from it I might consider it.

If you have 3.23s don't even bother with 3.42s go straight to 3.73s. 3.23 to 3.42 isn't much of a gain to justify the install, fluid change and price of the gears.

Hmmm your car should run a bit faster than that. When did you run and what was the DA? You have the LS6 intake and 241 castings over me, I'm still on the LS1 intake and 853 castings.

How much could I expect to gain from the 3.73s then?

I would guess anywhere from 1-2 tenths and 1-2 mph. Hopefully someone with your similar mods and those gears can chime in. You do know that you'll be cruising close to 3000 rpms with the 3.73s at 80mph on the highway right?

From 3.23 to 4.11 with a cutout went from a best of 13.4 to 13.01. 60' was my major downfall, still 2.0-2.1 I think the tune had something to do with getting going.

I itching to get out to the track this season and see how it does with a fresh built tranny and the tried a true vig 3600.

roarin 8: i t feels like i could probably squeeze another tenth or to out of it but i need to get some stickier tires, i have spun the tires on 3000+ rpm launches, so i feel with some mt dr's i could probably acheive the good times you have. do you still run the 2.73's?

I'm still on the 2.73s and I didn't spin with the nittos, you can watch the vid and notice that (3500rpm launch). Nittos just need a really good burnout. What's the STR on that converter?
