Default Yank breakage...?

Got my new yank istalled last night, and i took it out for a casual drive, to get some miles on it, never got above 60mph, and as soon as the convertor locked up in OD it started a wierd noise, like a hollowing. At first i thought it was coming from the rear end, but then i kinda thought it was coming from the tranny do to it instantly making the noise as soon as the convertor locked, well to get to the point i was taking it back to the house to get it tuned for the new stall compared to my old 4200, and while drive back tranny fluid just starting pooring out of my car, where the bellhousing is. Which leads me to believe that the stall fins or something in the stall convertor broke! Brand new stall ordered from yank. Gonna call Dave up on Monday and try to figure something out, but does anyone have any idea why this would have happend or ever had it happen to them. I never did any WOT runs, just got in the car and took it for a drive to do it being down for about 2 months...Then this **** happens! Im not very happy right now!

A "hooting", howling or groaning noise may just be TCC slip on
a clutch that doesn't slide quietly like stock. Inadequate lockup
pressure (the TCC PWM soft apply and slip learning, they suck,
the both of them).

Letting it slip for any time at all, makes a lot of heat. Worse
than unlocked. However when my old converter was doing the
bad slip and getting relatively hot, it still didn't puke.

Not to say there couldn't be some sort of install problem like
not replacing the turbine shaft seal O-ring (often neglected
and prone to make a front leak) or even a mis-seated pump.
Though you'd think that would show up unlocked and early.

I think I'd pull the trans pan and be sure about what might
have forced out fluid. Like a breach in the radiator trans
cooler for example might pressurize the trans through the
cooling lines and leave you with a bunch of nasty Dexcool
in the mix. What was the fluid level post-puke? Low probably
means a seal problem, still full would be something else.

All just speculation though. Good luck....

From the noise and leak it sounds more like the front pump rotor is cracked or failed.

Low pressure will not allow the clutch to apply fully this is much more true with a new converter that has an unseated lining, the leak is the pump of the trans not the converter, if the transmission pump broke it would damage the front seal causing the leak

get it out and inspect all parts and call us on Monday

Pulled the tranny and stall out today and everything looked absolutely fine. Stall was still full of fluid and i pulled the tranny pan to check for metal shavings and found nothing, so i think i blew the seal, what do you guys think? Im gonna call up FLT and see what they think tomorrow, but stall looks good and nothing in the tranny broke since there are no metal shavings!

also, all the fluid is NOT burnt and brand new looking, doesnt smell burnt at all. And tranny temp never got above 140 the whole time. its been really cold here, so i know the tranny didnt get hot either...i think it also has something to do with the locking in overdrive...(thats when it was howling and thats when it spit fluid). Tranny never locked up, friend that was next to saw it, so i shut it off, trailered it home....if u guys have any ideas let me know...if not ill keep this updated...

heres the update, sorry it took so long...

took it to a local tranny shop that i trust. Evidently the bushing pushed up behind the front seal causing it to leak. replaced, the bushing and seal and some other odd and end seals like on the pump, pan etc and put it back together. Everything has been good to go without any problems for sometime now.

-just wanted to update, cuz i hate when i search trouble shooting posts and people never post the fix or what happend...LS1TECH FTW!!!
