Default Yank SS4000 on spray on dyno???

I sprayed mine on the dyno today on a locked converter. It seems to be blowing right by the converter. Is this normal? Is it safe to say i just cant dyno on the spray. I only gained about 60hp with 150 jets because it looked like it was just flashing all the hell on spray. Other than that the trans works great, converter locks fine.

The converter is too loose for nitrous.

Are you saying to loose period. Or just to loose to expect it to work on a dyno. I was told this stall would be okay for the 150 shot.

Loose period. If it flashes like that on the dyno, its gonna do the same thing driving around. Thats why nitrous converters are tighter than n/a converters. That 150 shot is going to flash that converter about roughly 800 rpm (depending) above its stall point on the motor.

Yank told me the SS4000 was fine for nitrous. I was considering going that route before deciding to cam it first.

We could not get it took work at all on the dyno. I just called it a day. Didnt want to ruin the converter clutch. Other than not being able to dyno it, the converter works great.

Did you ever get in touch with Yank, I'd like to hear the rest of this story.
I was under the impression that the SS4000 is a great TC for juiced cars,
but that stacking a nice big heads/cam setup + juice meant that you needed to
look at a different stall speed.

I'm putting one in my H/C car next week, I was considering maybe adding an easy button at some later point in time.

The SS4000? I thought the PY4000E was the stall to get for juice?

A buddy of mine who had a SS4000 sprayed it on the dyno also with a 100 shot and the converter flashed to about 6400-6600rpm.

Not a nitrous converter at all!!!

What else was he running?
I would think he'd have to be in the 500rwhp range to kick the flash up that high.

Most converters designed for the spray suck *** on motor alone. But when the spray kicks in...it comes to life. I know people that spray 100 shots on stalls for NA cars and gain .5 ET. When I spray a 100 shot I gain ~1 second and 10-11mph (8th mile track). One is designed for n20 and one isn't.
