PCS
The transmission pressure control solenoid (PCS) is an electronic
pressure regulator that controls pressure based on the current flow through its coil winding. The magnetic field produced by the coil moves the solenoids internal valve which varies pressure to the pressure
regulator valve.
Thus, the PCM controls the pressure control solenoid by commanding
current between 0.1 and 1.1 amps. This changes the duty cycle of the
solenoid, which can range between 5% and 95% (typically less than 60%).
High amperage (1.1 amps) corresponds to minimum line pressure,
and low amperage(0.1 amp) corresponds to maximum line pressure (if
the solenoid loses power, the transmission defaults to maximum line
pressure).
So they had it for 7 weeks? That's long. What else does the car have as far as modifications? Is it on the factory tune? Did you check the basics before dropping the car off, check fluid, scan codes ,etc...

actually the PCS can fail the other way it can becoem contaminated or a peice of its screen tear and get into the orifice and prevent closing or opening and cause little of no line rise , I have seen then fail both ways , Now and electrical failure will generally cause max line. but mechanical failures can go either way. But agreed unless the high line for so long has done some damage Im not sure how it would cause his described problem since it would sound like low line presure not maxed.

I am asking for all help/info, I never worked on automatics trans but @ 68 and still working 52 hours a week aligning automobiles I am not too old to begain that task also, as I will try to explain problem and again ask for help,3 months ago on the way to track to try spray setup, while warning up on the street ( never got to track) blew 3-4 clutch pack, after asking around, find local shop with great rep , shop did complete rebuild -z pack/shift kit/xxxx, I drive around easy about 300 miles before pushing it hard @ WOT, @ WOT feel lagging on shift ( at part throtal shifts very chrisp and firm)return to shop who is very busey, after 6 week they call say think found problem, think it be ecp ?? in trans is not comanding shifts, shop replaced it and changed clutch pack because pack may / had been burnt, then check line pressue again find 220-230 but pressue not releasing ?, remove a spring ? from somewhere? raining today they are going to drive tomorrow.
please keep the info comming if the above does not fix the problem, I may begain on it myself
ps:I still like/trust the shop 100 percent
sorry about the rambling, but the only way I can explain
Thanks,Johnny
