I was just looking to get one set of tires for the street that would last a while and one set of rear tires for the strip. Those would be my drag slicks/radials. I could always change my mind about what I want to do, but that is what I had planned on doing.
just get nitto dr's for the rear and get those nice street tires for the front. that's what i'm doing and i love it. the nitto's will last 12-15k, 20k if you dont drive too hard often and are willing to go down past the wear bars lol. considering like gsd3's will last about 30-35k, that's not alot more mileage for superior traction. z rated tires just dont last very long, the tread compound isnt hard enough.
I installed the SS3600 over the weekend. All I can say is whoa! Street tires would be useless.
It will be real interesting launching at the track with my Nitto's. I think I'm going to have to roll into the gas.

I like my stall 3000 it has losted gas mileage but it is fun through out the whole drive there is less lag between shifts and stays in the power. from a roll it's faster now. but don't forget the a cooler because they heat up more.

Not trying to jack this thread but I was curious about something related. I'm wanting to do a Cam swap. Most of what I have seen reccomend changing to higher stall converter. Do I need to change the rear end gears at the same time or is that something that can wait. For a little while longer this will be a daily driver so I really don't want to completely kill my gas mileage. Still has stock 2.73 gears. Gets 23+ mpg now.

A stall will also be reccomended to get the most out of the cam swap. It might be best to do the converter, then gears before the cam swap.

Anybody ran higher stall with stock gears? What was the result?
Comes out of the hole good right now, but because rpm's drop so much when it shifts into second gear it falls flat till the rpm's can get back up in range.
Thanks for the help. Sorry again for jacking your thread SPEEDMONSTER.
