Default Stall on street tires?

Everyone has been telling me to get a stall for a long time, and I am thinking on getting one soon, but I don't know how much it is going to help with the street tires that I have now. I already spin most of the way through first, so I doubt the stall would help me lanch any, but I don't know if maybe it would help me in other ways. On the stock street tires, what do stalls help you with?

Thanks

A stall will help to keep your motor in the powerband even after the launch. The shift extension (rpms to which your engine drops after a WOT upshift) will be higher, and when hitting it from a roll the engine will slip into a higher rpm range faster than the stock stall.

You will always be closer to your peak power range with the proper stall than you were with the stock stall, whether it be at launch, after an upshift, or a from-a-roll punch.

If you don't at least take the car to the drag strip frequently, I wouldn't bother with a stall..That's just my opinion..OR, if you get a stall, get some tires to support it, like the ET Street Drag Radials.

A stalled car on the highway ain't no joke. It does not have to be for dragstips only. I have no action on the dragstrip but still let er rip when the time is right.

So it improves all acceleration, not just launching then?

I have the stock tires that came on it in '00 so I don't exactly have good street tires either. They will get replaced in the next year or so though.

Damn, I thought I made my stock tires from '02 last long I was able to get a 1.8 60' on my shot F1's last year.. It takes some getting used to launching on the street and at the track for that matter, but I can still pull out of the hole pretty damn good on the street with bald tires.

Ok, so does a different stall hold the rpms in a different range? Like a SS3600 vs. a SS4000? Is the main difference where it lashes to when you hit the gas? So for example, the 3600 flashes 400rpm lower, but then once it gets to rpm that it's the best in do they both hold it in the same area?

Thanks for all the help.

I talked with Yank and gave them my specifications and car use and they said the SS3600 would be best for my situation. Maybe give them a call and see what they say.

This guy speaks the truth. I love the shift recovery on a stalled A4 car. Instead of falling on its face every time it shifts and having to recover from it, it stays right in the sweet spot. I run a Yank SS4000 converter.

You know everyone says you need great tires for a stalled car. I have 315 Sumo's, and as long as I heat them up before I launch, I can still get a really good launch! I mean I will spin a little but, damn it still hooks and takes out like a ****... Now if I hit at like say 25 to 35, I spin the **** of them, But thats why you learn how to feather it out some and work what you got. It only took me about a week to get use to the new found glory of a stalled car..

ya i have 275/35/18 michelin pilot sports (wider then my old 295 firestone wide ovals. dont know why..)

well anyways they dont hook at all (they spin well into 3rd on a clean road), so BFG T/A DR's 315/30/18 are on the way and i hope they do what they are supposed to do.. if not atleast they will look badass and leave some wide *** black marks..ha

Depend on the street tires. With stock suspension I cut 1.8-1.9 60' on 18" BFG KDW2s

How do you think Eagle F1 GS-D3's would handle a 3600 stall? Those are what I was thinking about getting for my street tires.
