You could just tune it for the MPH you want.

You guys can do this all through tuning.

I lock mine at 42 in D and 57 in OD.

The only time typically you actually want to put in a lockup switch is when locking the converter at WOT in 3rd. it's not something a single disk converter is really built for but it improves effiency and you usually gain a couple mph at the track, and it's good for dyno queens.

lockup is based on MPH, not rpm.

It shouldn't be locking at all at WOT, unless it was specifically tuned to do so. It is set to never lock at WOT from the factory.

You cant just open up the circuit for lockup with a switch and disable it you would set a lockup or PWN solenoid code imediatley. As was stated above the converter should not lock up at WOT and unless you have a multi disk unit you should not be doing it your asking for issue with the trans and converter in the longer haul.
If you dont want the converter locking then have the tune changed to where it only locks at like 60 mph up .
