Broken tranny again
Well I have a 4L60E transmission and last night it broke.... again! The tailshaft is the only thing that breaks, and completely around. Does anyone here know what can possibly be causing this? Its happened to me twice already. Yall's help would be greatly appreciated.

I actually do have the torque arm on the tail housing still, I was guessing maybe that had something to do with it. Ive heard they sell torque arms that relocate somewhere other than the tail housing, Im interested in buying that wherever I can find it. As far as vibrations, I feel em but I think its from my x-pipe.

Now that you mention it my friends have also said it can be a drive shaft suspension geometry issue. But where would I take it to be sure wether its due to torque arm issues or geometry issues?

Look at the list of sponsors for the cross member. Try UMI, BMR, Spoon, and I'm sure that there are a couple of others that I have forgot. Have you replaced the drive shaft or had it checked when you broke the other housings? Might be a good idea to address that as well. Vince

Well actually first time it happened my cousin owned the car , he bought a completely new transmission before that happened. I bought it recently and felt that it was possible it would happen again and it did last night. Ill definately get it looked at though, would I have to have the drive shaft checked while it is on the car?

Ill definetaly get that checked, might as well invest in a relocated torque arm as well just in case. I appreciate the help man, this was starting to become a nuiscance esp. since Ive helped out to remove the broken housing and replace it the last time around.
