Whats up with the converter war. Seems as though both companys have made good converters and bad converters, the same goes for Huhes, Coan, etc. This goes for anything else we buy for our cars (Cranks, Rods, Valve Springs, etc.) too. Its just a part of racing. It doesnt matter how much or less you spend chances are sooner or later something will fail. I have never used a Yank converter before, but I have used TCI. I had a 10" 4500 and a 8" 6000 (both TCI) and never had a converter failure. The input shaft broke and the low gear band/drum etc. failed several times over the years but never converter failure. I had over 1,000 passes on the 8" and the car ran mid 9s with 1.30 60ft times. If you abuse it sooner or later it will break and it doesnt matter how much you spend. Why not just post pictures of what happend so we can all be more experianced and learn from it. I just dont see any reason why anyone should say this is a better product then that. Thats my opinion!

I have had 2 problems with yank convertors! One in my 99 trans/am. I HAD a ST3500 in it and it chatterd to hell on lock up. I wasnt the convertors fault. THen in the 2000 c5 a y3000 had it put in at buds chevrolet in ST Marys Ohio. after about a week it started heating up way and the comp shot line pressure up and it would lock up at all. Drove 6 hours back to ST Marys to take the covertor out and the tech says its trash put ,the stock one back in and its fine. Call mike and tell him its the trannys fault not the convertor. He did refund the money on that vertor for the vette but I ended up selling my ST3500 in the ta. I talked to Kevin at TCI two days ago what a great guy to deal with. I can get a hold of him and he calls me back. He is going to get me a vertor for the TA now that I have the juice. Im glad mike gave me my money back on the one convertor I just want to know is if there was never a problem with the ST line why did he release a " new improved" and the stop making them
I find it hard to recomend yank to anybody and have a problem dropping $995 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> for a PY3600E only to have it fail on me. I will say I was happy with the gains of the ST3500 if he could only make it more durable

You'll find no stronger advocate in Yank than me, I am a former PI guy. In my experience Mike @ Yank works hard to deal with any customer service issues, but he's going to grill you to make sure you installed the converter properly... enuff fluid etc....

Good luck with the TCI stuff and the Midwest stuff for that matter. But the way to build a business on here is to go with the flow and have great service.
