Re: 8.8 Ford Rear installed PICS Hmm....well after looking @ the pics again wondering how the torque arm was mounted it looks like i solved half the mystery:
if you look at the 1st and last pic in the 8.8 directory....you will notice that the rearend has a piece of metal that looks like a table meaning something like this crud drawing:

this goes around the pumpkin and the 2 torque arm mounting bolts go through holes in this bracket. Now how this bracket is attatched to the rear-end i cant see very well. Its more than likely welded but it also has some kinda cushion under it like looks like a bushing maybe. In the last pic you can kinda see something of color under it

Re: 8.8 Ford Rear installed PICS Okay, I will try to find out more on this. My friend Rick is a rearend guru. He has about half a dozen 8.8's in his shop. We are going to build one. Toss it on another guys 96 Z-28 and try it out. I will repost, how the fabrication went, the estimated time to build, and our test results.
Rick thinks we can build these things for around $1000 bucks or so each. Extra for custom work, and ABS crap. I had a Mustang with the 8.8...everything broke but the rearend.
