Hey white i was in the same position you are, gears of converter.I did a converter and gained some punch and pep.I love it and am not changing gears anytime soon.My car is alot of fun to drive now,it cuts mid 1.8 60ft in 1/4.its the biggest bang for the buck If i was buying now i check midwest torque converters alot of people have good things to say about them.I guess i got lucky with my tci its beenin the car for 4 months without a problem.also i had to buy some nittos cause it blows the tires off.what ever you choose u will enjoy.

 

My `02 Z is my daily driver and I put about 700 mi a week on my car.Since my car has 2.73s,it's not quite quick enough out the hole.Should I get gears or converter to give me that off the line launch I'm looking for.Reliability is my main concern.Fuel efficiency is not really an issue.So what do you think?????????

 

Ive been researching this and its pretty much been a unanimous decision to go with the converter, and thats what Im going to go ahead and do. Good luck with your decision.

 

Do the converter first...

 

It depends on what you want.The converter will make your car faster but depending upon which you go with the car will take more revs to get moving with those 2.73's in the rear.If you get gears first then it will tighten up the converter feel and take less revs.I would go with the converter myself though.
