Default Torque Convertor...Should I?

Was thinking about my next mod...Would i be benifiting from a TC? Other than my mods, i have a stock LS1 and dont do much racing. An occassional *** whoopin of a mudstain, but thats it.
1. What convertor would i be investing in?

2. What are the pros and cons of torque convertors?

Don't buy anything else. SAVE for a converter.

It will make more of a difference in your car than ANYTHING else.

I would look at a Yank in the 3500 rpm range...

Moving this to the Drivetrain Section.

Call them directly and see if they still have the Y3000 available. The SLP 3300 would be pretty comparable if the Y3000 is no longer available.

Yank or Vig in the 3500-4000 range. I currently have an Extreme 5-Disc 3800 Vig and it's off the chain! Blows most other converters away...only similar modded car that has launched like I do has been one outfitted with a Yank 4400....Also, Yanks cost 900+ and the Vig ran me 795....

I've driven a Yanked car and there's hardly any noticeable difference between my stall and the same stall speed Yank....Look around You can find good deals on both of'em used. I'm actually thinkin of sellin my entire 4L60 set up in favor of a TH350 cause the 4L60 can't hold 500+ reliably yet.

By far the best mod for an A4 LS1. I run the Y3200 and love it. It's an excellent strip/street TC. It shouldn't be a matter of "Should I?", but
"Which one?".

TCI makes a nice 3500rpm stall that you can buy for $500 from Jegs (IE free shipping!). 1.4 60' on their 3800rpm stall here. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
