Re: Come see the new Yank Super Stock converters!
Patrick,
I have a PT4400 and have been very happy with it. It has ran 1.55 60ft. and 11.51 1/4. I am now running a 90 rwhp shot of dry nitrous. I have ran a best with the nitrous of 1.49 60ft. and 10.90 1/4. Give me some info on what I can expect from the SS3800 and how it would effect my times. What exactly is the torque multiplication on this new convertor? I have been thinking about changing convertors, but this setup seems to run so well. I will change if the diffrence is great enough. Thanks.

Clay (Birdman),
Since you are making good ETs on nitrous with the Pro Thruster, I would expect that what little you gained on a 90 shot, you would be disappointed that you took a step back on motor. Remember, for N/A, the YPT4400 is the bomb. Now if you were running a 150 shot or bigger, you'd probably see 1-2 tenths difference between a Pro Thruster 4400 and a SS3800, but with a 90 shot, it's not even worth changing for.
WJ,
You should need no computer tuning for a stock heads/cam motor. Just change shift points via HPP3 and you'll be good to go. Just stall away from ported MAFs. They do funky things to clutch lockup.

Patrick,
Thats about what I expected, but its always good to get an unbiased opinion. I'll stick with the PT4400. It is a great convertor!! Thanks, keep up the good work.

Thanks Patrick. I have left two messages with Mike and have had no response. Is there a better way to contact him?

wm_sorg,
You will not lose top end with the SS3600. Actually, you should pick up top end because your motor will always be closer to peak hp and torque than it would be with the stock converter. The SS 3600 will be a pussycat with your small cam and gear selection. You'll love it (although you may want to consider bumping up to the 3800)
Mike at Yank can make the Super Stock converter into a 4200, no problem. Give him a call at 479-632-6355.

Re: Come see the new Yank Super Stock converters!
Sounds like an interesting converter.. hopefully it`s not a re-packaged ST 3500. Yank figure out what material to use to stop the lock-up chatter..?
Is there a warranty if it does chatter or will it be the standard "must be your cat back" warranty ?

Re: Come see the new Yank Super Stock converters!
I currently have the ST-3500 in my car. I love it. I picked up .80 in the 1/4 with this convertor. That was with a stock motor.
This winter i am installing a heads/cam setup and a TNT F1 kit. Would the SS-3800 really shine a noticeable improvement??
Also a friend has a PY-4100(not 100% sure) that i was thinking about buying. how would this compare to the SS-3800??
I love the street manners of the ST-3500 even though i have the tiny 2.73 gears.
I just want the best convertor for the track that will be ok for the street.
Thanks for the help.
