i still have all my gears but i guess wat im tryin to say is that when it comes time to shift it feels like i put the car in neutral then when the rpms get around 5 1/2 or so it shifts. its shifting really late.

What is the condition of the fluid. If it is missing shifts and slipping when shifting it sounds to me like the problem is internal damage. The fluid condition will tell us a bunch.
That in conjunction with the stored DTC's will help get you to the correct diagnosis. While Autozone may be able to tell you the code(s) stored there is no substitute for a qualified Technician. Have a Transmission Shop look at it, then get back with us. Most transmission shops do not charge to diagnose.

You are going to need to take it to a trans shop or a tuner who can look at the data stream and see what the PCM is comanding the trans to do. Dont go tearing into the trans until you have done that. We have had more than one person to order a trans from us because someone told them there trans was bad when it wouldnt shift or had some other odd activity, Only to have to help them figure out the real issue afterward.
