Th400 Shifting late TCI VB
I have a Monster Motorsports TH400 auto/manual. It doesnt matter what rpm or what kid of throttle you give it. When you shift the shifter (Quarter stick Pistol) into 2nd it has about 1.5 sec delay before it up shifts real annoying when you have to guestamate your shift rpm to keep it off the rev limiter.
But anyways thought it was the valve body so put a brand new TCI street fighter VB in it and same problem nothing differant. Also with both VB if you take off normal with shifter in D tranny is in 3rd before 10 mph. Shifts fine into 3rd manually.
Did search no results. Thanks Guys

My th400 in my elcamino shifts from first to second and from second to third kinda early, but not too early. I figured it was doing that because i didn't have the little electric kick down plug hooked to it like i had on my old TH350. I never really made a deal out of it since when i am racing or need to downshift i manually shift my gears anyway (Works flawlessly...tire spinning shifts through every gear!). May be a clutch problem or you may need to hook up your electric kickdown switch. seems kinda weird for it to be in 3rd by 10mph. call this number 310-219-0439, C&O Automotive...they are very known for the racing transmissions they build. They may have the answers to you questions. It's where i got my TH400 from and I have no complaints at all.
