Default Guys with cammed 4L60E, HELP!

Does your car idle perfectly or does it move around a bit? What is the solution to that? Is it all in the tune? I was told it's difficult to make cammed A4 cars idle well. I think that's bullshit. I also think it sucks whenever I put my car in REVERSE to back up that I have to play with the gas/brake pedals to keep the car from dying. What is up with that? Are these just the qualms of having a modded automatic car?

Unless you have a really big cam with a 3500 stall like you have listed I woundnt think you would have and issue, I would see a tuner , I mean it will not idle smoothe but the idle may be to low or something.

I run the same exact cam that you do and have the same issues. My tuner worked extensively on the car to help correct this. Still have some issues but not like before the street and Dyno tune. Sometimes it occurs when in reverse or when the car comes to an abrupt stop . Input to eliminate this completely would also be appreciated.

Tune and mess with your idle screw, and drill the throttle body blade hole to .250''

The condition you have described is one that is actually not directly related to the fact that it is an automatic. The condition is a tuning issue. I am gonna bet that the engine will go into an idle surge and die when placed into gear. And I would bet that it is a lot better when it is at operating temp, that is to say after it goes into open loop.

Definately have your tuner take a look at it as your VE and MAF tables need to be adjusted. If you need another tuning opinion call me and I'll get you in touch with Arvil next door at Xtreme.

No Thats A Tune Issue I Have A Bigger Cam And Before Getting The Tune Right Has Similar Probs After A Good Tune Everything Was Better... Your Idle Settings Are Probaly Off (either Airflow Or Spark)
