are the dimentions the same... a local trans shop said that they are and that I could fit one into my c5 vette with some mods to the trans case.. is this true???..

Mods are:

1. cut the bellhousing off of the 4l60e
2. call an adaptor company(forgot the name) that sells an adaptor plate that will allow the swap..

is it possible???

 

Anything is possible , The trans are nearly identical dimesionally and mechanically.

 

Well I want to run a MVB and they said that it can be done with a 700-r4.. all I have to do is flash a stock 02 z06 tune in my pcm and eliminate the auto tables... it can be done with efilive ...

how much can a 700-r4 handle power wise????

 

A 700R4 and a 4L60E have equal power handling , I personally would have gone with the 4l60e with the TRANSGO HD3 full manual kit

 

I do have a 4l60e in the car already... I want a mvb... I was told no mvb was made for 4l60e... I want to control the shifts not the computer...

I am pretty sure you could run a MVB in a 4l60e as there is a guy locally who is building that setup... I went 9.6 with my 700R4 in my Firebird last year, there are 2 guys with TNT Rings here that went 9.5&9.6 with 4l60e's... Wade built both these cars... and Wade himself went 9.2@155 with a 4l60e in his C5 several years ago... just be preppared for frequent tranny refreshes!

As far as I know you cannot get a reverse manual valve body for the 4l60e only the regular pattern
