2nd trans. cooler install ?

Default 2nd trans. cooler install ?

is the trans. cooler designed to be gravity feed.

I currently have a economical 20K cooler mounted to the AC condenser where the input line is mounted on top output is on bottom ? is this the preffered way of installation?

also I'm adding a second 24K in addition to the 20K however the way I've mounted cooler2 the input and output are both pointing up. (have'nt installed connecting tubes yet will wait for suggestions from you good folks).

I wanted the tubes from cooler 1 to cooler 2 to be as short as possible so the the fluid would'nt heat up as much compared to a longer tube.

? where the trans. lines is contacting the plastic part of rad. should this be protected with a extra piece of larger tubing?

Trans coolers are not gravity fed. There is pressure.

WHy not save yourself the time and trouble of running 2 coolers and just get one that will do the job?

WHy are you thinking you need an additional cooler?

Default 2 coolers is better than 1

OK so the coolers are preasure feed so it doe'nt matter if the input is on top or bottom correct?

What does your converter stall to? Where does it spend most of it's time (rpm range)?

What thermostat is in your engine,... what temps does it run?

Is your current cooler in seriers with the radiator cooler or not?

I presume you are looking get your trans temps below 220* in traffic, correct?

A. w/ my el-cheapo 20K even stuck in big city traffic 180*-200* is high as I've observed (thats on hot summer days down south)

What does your converter stall to? Where does it spend most of it's time (rpm range)?

A.normal city curiesing 1800- 2700RPM

What thermostat is in your engine,... what temps does it run?

A.stock thremostate however I asked the tuner to lower the fan on temps. I beleive the tuner also prepared me for a 180* thremostate. I did'nt want to go as low as 160 because I like the car to warmup quick.

Is your current cooler in seriers with the radiator cooler or not

A. rad. is plugged currently only 20k extremnal cooler.

All of that looks just fine. It is not a problem for it to hover around 200*... not ideal, but not detrimental.

My recommendation for you would be to get you radiator ooler back in the loop and install a 160* engine t-stat. The only reason the mfgr's run the engines hotter is emmissions purposes. With a proper tune and the use of a 160* t-stat you will have no problems.

I just do not see the need in using 2 external tranny coolers... one good external cooler, the OEM cooler and a cooler running engine are all you need with your combination... even if you had a high stall converter that would be sufficient.
