Dana at ProBuilt built my 4l60e. So far so good with my NA superstroker!
But at your powerlevel, I doubt you will get very many passes on slicks no matter who built it.
My trannie guy once told me the "E" in the 4L60E stands for "Expensive".

Anyways good luck!

I have a FLP level V and it's been doing great.

I've gone mid 1.4's with mine and have put a lot of torque thru it.

my Yank has been fine, but I'm not a superstroker.
I don't see the clutch packs lasting real long on a superstroker that is flogged on a regular basis. A freshening every year or two is to be expected IMO.

I agree about the freshening.

I'm hoping for a couple years before I have to crack it open, though.

I may try slicks once or twice to see what "best time" I can get, but M/T ET STreets or Hoosiers Quicktimes are the grippingest tires I expect to use regularly.

Default 4L60E Choices - who would YOU pick?

DANG! This High Performance Associates tranny is the bomb!
Josh (the builder) does his own "shift mod" work to the valve body (he told me this when I asked does it have a shift kit).

At part-throttle, if you let it rev even decently high before letting it shift, when it does, the car just jumps out. I had to soften my part-thottle programming to manage it some when I am not pushing it (the pogramming is obviously not stock ).

I'd say, when I put my street radials back on, I will get some nice chirping on the shifts.

I said that to ask this:

I bought a High Performance Associates Transmission, guys that haven't been doing much internet sales.

Who are the other major players for rebuiding our stock trannies?

SLP has a 4L60E Race-Ready trasmission, right?

Someone threw around Speed, Inc.

Doesn't Yank have a Sportsman Pro?

1. What are you using?
2. How are their warranties?
3. Have you had a problem wih a rebuilt tranny? If so, what stage is it and what kind of power do you have?

Right now HPA has two Stages, but they are restructuring to Stages I, II and III, to give guys more range of choices.
They have a 6-month warranty and so far none of their customers have broken their race trannies.
I haven't been able to find anyone that would warranty a transmission rebuild with the animal I have in front of it.

But, I'VE got a blown 422 stroker!
Hopefully the trend will hold... otherwise, 4L80E or TH400 is the next thing to look at. Please, Lord, let this one hold up to that GWP 422!

It would take a lot of power to cut a 1.36 short time, and a 7.39 does not indicate a lot of power. FYI, I'm running 7.20's with stock cubes and stock LS1 heads with low 1.5x 60' times.

I do agree that Mike Kurtz builds an awesome 200-4R, though. I will end up with one eventually.
