4l60e no first gear

Default 4l60e no first gear
what does it mean if you put it in d or 3 and the car does not move. no first gear but if you put into 2 or 1 it will go into gear. is my trans done for???

i know what is wrong now the dam thing blew up and i was picking up pieces of the trans off the street. i went to move it and bam it is now gone

thanks for the advice tho

ya it was a loud bang then a big cloud of smoke from the trans fluid hitting my exhaust.
