Default 422+th350/400 guys which converter?

what converter are you 422 guys running with th400's and 350's?

happy with it?

OF COURSE, I will be buying a yank, but which one?

If you are spraying I would stay in the 3000's for a stall...if you want an all motor monster why not get a JW 4500 converter, or a yank 4400...or you can get one of yanks spray/motor converters that they make for the TH400/350...the Yank 4000 extreme I think, not too sure about the actual name of it..

Whether or not you spray makes a huge difference on which converter to get. If you do not spray, then I would go something like a PT4000 or maybe even a little bigger. IF you do spray, then you want a PYE3400 or 3600 or something like that. But be ready to suffer on all-motor runs with that converter. I have to make do with high 1.5x low 1.6x 60-foots on a PY3400E on all motor passes when I could be down in the 1.3xs with a different converter. But I can spray and not worry about banging the limiter.

It's a trade off.

I wish there were a good converter other than the py extreme, from what I hear it really sucks on all motor runs. and I don't plan on spraying much (just kinda want it for those "special" races)

I wanted 1.3X 60's. kinda makes me wonder if I should just run all motor.

Just make sure you realize that what is a 4400 stall behind a 346 will be way over 5000 with a 422.

Best bet is to talk directly to Mike at Yank. Tell him all about your setup/intended usage and let him be your guide.

Yank Super Stock 3800...all the way. It will stall about 4100-4200 on motor and about 4400-4500 on the gas. The best compromise I can think of. If you plan on spraying more than a 200 shot, go with a Yank SS 3600 or a larger Pro Yank 3600E.

I will ask mike about that converter, it does sound like a nice choice. I will only be spraying a 100 shot.

Are you saying that my 422 with 150 shot would not kill that converter? If so, I would certainly be interested, as this PY3400E sucks for stall on all motor.

Yes, as long as you're keeping the shot under a 200 shot, the SS3800 would ROCK on your 422. Hey, MTI built that motor to rev...this converter will better help you take advantage of that. Your on-motor performance will improve dramatically.
