I ask him that in private he said they were both 2wd. But it does sound like hes comparing the early bolt on bell to the later ls1 type. Except for the out put shaft part.

Trucks didn't get LS type engine until the middle of '99 build date.
So the question is whether or not the donor truck has an LSX engine or gen1. Everything else can be swapped out as far as the shift linkage, tailhousing, etc.

Thats what I was thinking that it had the early bolt on bell type but he also said it was a 5.3 truck.

Verdad Gallardo OK you said 5.3 in your PM check on that and let us know. You probably got ahold of earler bolt on bell type it has a different input shaft/pump stator and bellhousing than the LS1 type in the 98 camaro.
