Default People w/3600 stall, question for you.

Did alot of highway driving over Labor weekend, and noticed that @ 70mph I am running at a little over 2k rpms. Is that high or am I in the right rpm range for a 3600 stall. Just curious, What rpms are you guys in the 70-80 mph range area as well.

That also depends on rear gear D or OD and converter locked or not...I'm driving my car to work tomorrow and I'll check out what my cruise rpms are...I should know this because I drive it all the time...I run a Vig 3600, 3.73s and 26" tires...locked converter at cruise...

Ok, thanks. I am running 3.23 gears, always keep it in D(OD), and it locks up at 47 mph.

If your converter is locked it shouldn't matter which one you have. I have the same gears you have (3.23) with stock converter and I turn 2100 rpm's at 70 mph.

with the stock converter, and my SS3600, my cruise RPM's are the same with 4.10's and a 28.8" tire. as long as its locked up its 1:1 no matter what converter you have in it.

thanks guys, just thought it seemed a little high, I could have sworn when my stock converter was in, I was running at under 2k at 70 mph, but looks like all is good.
