Besides the 3-4 shift happens at 142 MPH with 3.23 gears and with 2.73's you'd hit the speed governor before you could hit 4th. Anyone who consistently reaches 4th gear at WOT needs to have thier license suspended and sanity checked.
i'll agree with you on all of the above except for the license suspension.

i had my a4 rebuilt with a zpak, upped the torque reduction percentage on the 3-4 and removed the speed limiter.

what would you say about someone who intends to unload 100 shot nitrous in 4th at wot?

Mine is still holding well and its on 97,xxx mile mark. I'm LS6 intake/pulley away from full bolt ons. I gotta feeling once I put a heads/cam its going to crap.

that was at 58k miles.

had my 4L60E rebuilt by a local reputable shop (which has since gone out of business) with some upgraded parts. it ran great. i had a 3600 stall and sprayed 150 shot of nitrous. hell i sprayed it in 4th too.

now 3.5 years and about 46k miles later my "built" 4L60E finally gave out while a reputable tuner was making some final adjustments on the street (for heads/cam/headers).

i put in an order for a level 2 tranny from xtreme performance with their billet converter. with their billet converter, warranty is 2 year unlimited mileage. i'm crossing my fingers that i won't have to revive this thread ever again.
