yank convertor probs please read I just purchased a used tp4000
my car is completely stock w/2.73 gears
After I put the yank in at around 55-60mph
if I accelerate lightly I get a grinding noise
the car does not shutter it sounds like
the splines are not engaging fully.
I had no probs like this before with the stock convertor
the previous owner told me this is a common problem and once I get a hpp3 and raise the line pressure along with a set of gears the prob will
clear up
just wondering if anyone can give me some advice

I know this is not what you want to hear but I would pull the converter out and send it to Yank and have them check it out. The price to have the converter rebuilt is around $175. That is what I did when I bought a used converter.
Transmission rebuilds are not cheap.

Re: yank convertor probs please read I think it is probably the dreaded shudder. Line pressure increase may fix it if the problem goes away at higher speed.
What year is your car and what are your mods? Are your Ltrims negative?

Re: yank convertor probs please read There is an additive called lube gard (I think) tht is supposed to be the fix and it is also good for the tranny internals. I think the is more info on Raughhammers site. It's a good converter so don't give up yet.

I've got a PT4200(with 3.42's) in my daily driver and have never added line pressure or a shift kit(per Mike at Yank). 5000 trouble free miles so far. Knock on wood.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
