Here is the story in a nutshell, i have a 99' TA with a 408 putting out 500hp/500+torque and I have been through 3 trannys. The first was the factory 4L60-e , obviously that one was gonna die, then i went to the TH350 with a TCI stall built by Texas-Speed. Great tranny only problem is I need a 4rth gear, i live in Hawaii gas is 3.25 a gallon. Also, The sensor wouldnt connect to the tranny and i bought the drive shaft adaptor but I am to dumb to install it, so i had no odometer/speedometer readings. then i said screw it I am goin to find a deal on a 4l60-e built and bought one from
www.transperformance.net a level 3 which looked good. For 2k it was at my doorstep. He neglected to tell me it had no bellhousing, tailshaft and i had to get a convertor. 1k later I installed it and with in 2 weeks it died, found metal shavings in the pan, leaks all over and it didnt feel like it had a shift kit .I GOT HUSTLED Now , i have 2 trannys sitting at my house and i need to find a tranny that actually will handle my needs. All i NEED is the tranny itself, no stall, bellhousing, tailshafts. Also, I have CORE . Anyone know a good place to get one for a good price?
