Default 2nd Accumulator Piston

I'm taking my trans out to put in my stall/shift kit/cooler and I have two questions.

1: how do you get the 2nd accumulator piston apart?

2: I have the bearing caps off the driveshaft, the rear is unloaded, and the d-shaft won't slide forward into the trans??? I've been haning off it and it still won't budge. Any help is appreciated on this one.

Thanks. I don't have a compressed air source though. Can I push up through the center hole on the rod or will that not work.

I guess I will finish up the shift kit and put the valve body etc. back in. Is there any reason that all of that being out and the trans being in neutral would not allow the driveshaft the be pushed back into the tailhousing?

Cant think of anythng on the drive shaft , As for the accumlator you can dry it off (bad taste) and blow on the hole with your mouth you may however ingest a little trans fluid lol

Well, I got it apart earlier today and I found what was causing the rattling (yes, it was rattling). The smaller second spring was broken in two pieces.

On the other note, before i disconnect everything on the rear, what is the downside of dropping the trans (even only a little) with the driveshaft still in the tailhousing?
