You'll have to bear with me. I am not up on my camshafts... assuming a TR 230 is a camshaft this is!

Can you point me to some info about a TR 230?

Which TR230 is it... they show two on their website, and they would ask for slightly different converters...

230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA

230/236 .592/.602 112 LSA

the 3600 would work fine - but if you want an SS converter, i'd go with the proven SS4000. kick *** all around converter.

I agree, somewhere around 3,200 -3,600 would do just fine as long as you do not have a power adder... big shot of N2O or forced induction.

I don't think it would be bad, make sure your converter has an anti ballooning plate installed though. At a light 100 -150 shot it shouldn't get into trouble... but anything more and it could easily balloon and bad things happen when that happens at high rpm's.

No, not with Yanks SS series. I'd say you'd be happy with 3600 to 4000.

I'd say either the SS3200 or SS3600 if you are planning on a bottle...

thanks for the input, sounding like the 3600 might be for me. One more question though, how big of a difference would the 4000 be as far as driving and racing??

it really depends on the size shot you want to run. its just going to take a little more throttle input to get it rolling and driving in general... once its locked, they are all the same. You wont need a converter that big until you get up in the high 230's duration. I'd go with the 3600 if it were me. That cam and the bottle will work extremely well with the SS3600... and still be extremely streetable.

There is a sticky up top that says the optimum stall speed for LS1's with ~230 duration cam is 4000-4400. I loved the SS4000 with wy TR230, but my tranny just gave up the ghost so I'm upping to the PT4400 with 4.10's! A litte extreme.....oh yeah. Just the way I like it.
