Default Took my car to get converter in (Need feedback)

Well today in the morning I finally took my car to Speed Inc to get my 3200 Vig installed, along with the B&M supercooler and tuning. I hear they do good work, so I'm hoping they will for my car and take care of it. This is pretty much the 1st time anyone other than me has worked on this car so I'm a little bit uneasy. I'll tell you guys how it feels and how it runs once I get it back and can take it out to the track.

Speed Inc does nothing but top notch work. It's the only shop I trust when I don't want to or can't do a job myself. I wouldn't worry a bit with the car in their hands...

I saw it there today, it looks better in person than in the pics I have seen. Very clean car, Shawn

Well I picked up the car today. Tom said everything went smoothly and perfectly. So I hop in the car and I must say I was pretty shocked. The car seems very doggish now. It seems must slower (which I've heard people say before), and what blows my mind is that it seems like the car wouldn't be able to do a burnout compared to stock (Even tho I heard it will be alot easier now). So I guess I need to hear some feedback from others, and probably get more used to the car.

Another thing I noticed is that it seems like my fan's are on all the time? I had them put in a trans cooler and they did tuning. Does anyone else's fans stay on?

The 3200 vig kicks ***....and Speed does excellent work, converter swaps are like changing a filter for them....they have done a few on my car...

The converter will suck up some HP especially if unlocked, but the 1/4et time will make up for it...

the car may feel sluggish at part throttle because you have to use more throttle input. That's "looseness". Just give a little more gas and you go plenty fast.

Not sure why you can't spin the tires. I went sideways coming out of the tranny shop after installing my first converter (TT 2800).

Fans could be on because they lowered the temp setting to run the car cooler if they added additional timing. Do you still have a stock T-Stat? Also the tranny cooler is using some of the air flow that used to go unheated to the radiator.

Has anyone else (with a high stall) tested your car to see if they agree that it is sluggish?
BTW, Speed Inc. has an excellent reputation. If something is not right, Tom will make it right. Call them and discuss your concerns.

I do have the stock stat. I was asking tom about that since he called to see how the car was and he said it should be fine. I think he said it goes on at 182. I didn't ask him about the lossness though, seeing how I had the car for one day I'm probably just not used to it yet. I've also only drivin the car in OD comming home (Since I only use D when I race), how do you guys normally city drive (OD or D)?

In about a week I will be going back to speed tho because I forgot my stock converter, so then I'll prob have a better chat + more experiance.

When you nail it the car should be much faster. Welcome to the world of performance, you use to have a Probe right?

No, it was a 1990 Corsica LTZ with racing seats :p. Pretty decent car for daily. I might be buyin a 91 TT Dodge stealth that needs engine work for a winter car (hopefully I'll buy it).

I race in OD. Shifts are more accurate for me.

Exactly oppsite for me. I only use 3rd (D for Camaro). OD gives me a less precise shift and slower downshifts. Guess it depends on the trans.

So now that you have had some seat time does the car feel stronger? Hopefully it turned out ok.
