Default Shifting problems

I just got my car running and not to fimilar with new style trannys. I have a 05 5.3 engine and 4l60e trans in my nova. The trans just got rebuilt. The problem is I hit the rev limiter on the 2 to 3 shift almost like it is in neutral. Shifts fine first to second. Is this a tuning issue or is something wrong with my trans. If tuning what needs to be adjusted? Thanks for the help!!!

Well thats it you night try lowering your 2-3 shift rpm and mph but if that dosent help you need to talk to your builder. Make sure you allow at least 500 rpm between the comanded shift and the rev limiter

What experience with high performance 4L60E's does your builder have?

Not a shot at them, but it is not easy getting one of these to live long and operate well. The tune can make a whale of a big difference in it's operation.

I recommend taking a long look at the fluid condition. It could be burned already! If all is well and good with the unit, definately take it to someone who has tuning experience with 'em.

Default Tranny

I know a guy that is a tranny guy at a chevy dealer he rebuilt it for me. I orginally killed it because I did not seat the converter all the way and started it. The fuild still looks good and does not smell burnt i have two tranny coolers on it the stock one and a B&M. Thanks for the help I will try to get it tuned.

Question 2-3

It floats at WOT on the 2-3 shift could it be the 2-3 shift solenoid or servo (not sure what it is called). Pulls fine in every gear barks the tires on the 1-2 shift pulls hard in 2 then on the shift hits the rev let off it shifts 3 pulls hard to fourth. Thanks again.

Make sure the fluid level is ABSOLUTELY full or slightly over. The F-car pan allows fluid to uncover the pickup during hard acceleration and destroy the 2-3 shift just as you described. You can also install the pan & filter from a C5 which is deeper in the middle: part #'s 24208593 & 24208574.

Default Pan

I am using a truck pan it is a truck tranny Using a F-body dipstick will it read the same on the stick? Tried to lower the shift point from 5200, to 4800 still to loose on the shift hit rev limiter. Car drives fine just feels lazy on the 2-3 part throttle and WOT shift great into any other gear including the 3-4. No burnt fuild or looks clean.
