Default Hey guys... converter Q

I dont know much about the Fbodys.. mostly just trucks..

My buddy has a 98 Trans Am 3rd and 4th gear bit the dust..
Goin to get the trans rebuilt but wondering what converter to go with..

Its bone stock and DD. goin to have the usual bolt ons and might spray it this summer.. just wondering what converter you guys like.. nothing big though i was thinkin a 2400 or something?

I have a Yank 3000 in my silverado and love it..
But like i said.. im dumb when it comes to the cars..

tell him to get a Yank SS3600. Yanks SS line is tight and it will feel good.

hum... 3600... i dont think he will want to do that... i think its got 2.73? gears in it...

Is there any difference between the truck and car Converters? Will a TB Converter fit?

The Yank ss 3200 and 3600 are very tight converters. Anything less and you should keep it stock imo.

The VIG 3200 is a very streetable converter as well nonni. Might be another option. I have many customers running the VIG or the Yank. I'm sure he will be happy with either. Good luck bud. Vince

Its not my car so i can only suggest to him like yall are doin to me..
he is tight on money right now so im tryin to help him not go out cheap like i did when i got my first converter.... PTC sucks!!

I was thinkin of a stock Trailblazer converter... cause the car is goin to be stock for another year.... just needs something to get by till then.

I had an SS4000 with 3.23's and it was very streetable. It was surprisingly tight with stock gears. Now I run a PT4400 and it's not even that bad with 3.23's. I think an SS3200 or 3600 would be perfect.

I had a fuddle 3800, and was a little loose...not high enought STR i believe, but I loved it other than that. Wasnt a DD, but didnt use it on just the weekends either.
