it was only 170*. the fluid level is fine. like i said i think its time for a full rebuild but i had no problems till the converter went in. but im gonna check tuning issues first.

Are you throwing any sort of misfire codes or any codes at all? I remember my car would go into 2nd gear start every once in awhile usually when the trans temp got hotter and obviously I had to give it alot more gas to get it going I cant remember if it would lock up or not when it did that. Maybe the next time you drive the car and it does it shut it off for a few min then restart it and drive it and see if its still messed up that would cure my 2nd gear start issue then I just deleted a code and havent had it since and hopefully it doesnt re occur.

I had a similar problem with my SS3800 when I installed it. The car would get started, drive fine until it shifted into OD and had to unlock the 'verter when slowing down. Then, the MIL would come on, and I wouldn't have 2nd and 3rd gears until I reset the MIL. I replaced both shift solenoids because they were cheap; no dice. I had the slip code deleted; no dice. It wasn't until I drove with the car in 3rd (until I got on the freeway, at speeds where the tranny wouldn't downshift) that the problem went away. After that, I never had a problem with codes, or the tranny only having 2nd and 3rd gears.

my interceptor scan gauge shows no misfires, but how accurate that is i do not know. thanks for all the input everyone!

well i pulled this code with my interceptor scan gauge.

DTC P0757 2-3 Shift Solenoid Valve Performance - No Third or Fourth Gear

not sure exactly whats goin on. most of the time the car is fine but everynow and then it acts up. any more input would be greatly appreciated!

Common stall code delete the test for the code in tuning it should always be done with any stall over 3000
