Car Goes Into Safe Mode When Trying To Stall Help
I Have A 02 Vette With A Procharger, Rpm Trans, And 2800 Vig Stall. When I Go To Stall Up The Car It Goes Into A Safe Mode At Two Thousand Rpms. Thunder Racing Could Not Figure It Out Anyone Can Help. When It Safe Mode It Dumps Fuel And Pulls The Timing Out.

Sounds like a wiring problem, bad sensor, or a misfire that is causing your issue. That is where I would start. Being that your vehicle is modded anything is possible here. How does it work if you do not stall it up? I highly doubt that this is a transmission issue but I have been wrong before. Vince

Is this a new combination? Or a new problem with an old combination? If i is the latter, what was changed prior to the symptoms showing up?
I too doubt that the symptoms you have described are related to a transmission fault.
Can you define the "Safe Mode" you are referring to? And will it do the same thing if you take it to WOT at say 40 mph?

Try this. Pull the car up to the line, do your burnout, and then when you are rolling up to the line, turn the car off and turn it back on. After that, see if it works fine again. Sometimes when I am racing on the street and have to do multiple burnouts, I have to do that. I know quite a few people who do as well. I think it has something to do with the trans getting hot and the car going into limp dick mode. If it ever does it, we just turn it off and turn it back on, and it works just fine.

Ok... so the Safe Mode is trying to protect the engine. Most likely it is doing this because of an Engine Misfire, Spark Knock / Detonation condition.
What was the reason for the transmission and converter change?
What was the stall of the previous converter?

he is experiencing limp mode and it almost always happens when you get a higher stall put in. As someon else mentioned about turning the car off then on again to get rid of it. You need to turn the code p0757 off and then go and try it. Do a search for that code on here(you will probably see me making posts in just about all of them) and you may have your answer. I know the 1998-2000 sometimes throw a different code, oh and it doesnt have to throw the code to happen. Po1870 or po751 is also a common code on the older cars when a new stall is added. First start with shutting off po757 and see what happens.
