Default Tricks to getting pump out??

I've been taking apart my tranny to try and figure out what caused the loss of my drive and overdrive gears..(under carefully and knowledgeable direction from performabuilt) Everything was going fast and smoothly until I tried taking out the pump. I CANNOT GET THAT SUCKER TO COME OUT. I've been prying gently at it from between the pump and drums through the valve body side and I can get it to move up about 1-2 mm on the side I'm prying but no more....I can push it back down and pry it up over and over but it does not want to leave its home.

Anybody have a tip or trick to assist me while performabuilt is off line? Thanks

yeah...the tcc is out..all pump bolts are out but the were really torqued in there and were RTV'd. Do they normally come right out or is this normal? I haven't had a chance to dig into it again...really waiting for a profomabuilt to hit me back or another pro to give me some advice. I even had a 12 inch pry bar in there an gently rocked it around to no avail.

Remove the bellhousing with a torx plus bit.

The bellhousing overlaps the pump. You can pry the **** out of it, I've done it before. But when you put the pump back in, you're going to tear the pump o-ring so you might as well remove it now.

Most people don't, thats a torx plus, most auto parts stores won't even know what you're talking about.
Don't try a torx T50 because it'll strip the bolt head.
Take the trans to a trans shop and have them remove it or order a bit from a trans parts supplier. bulkpart.com

The only problem is BOA is in Germany IIRC. Looks like you are on hold for a bit. Vince

Nice find. We have a bit in a 1/2 drive that works very well.

I pulled and reinstalled my pump without removing bell housing. No leaks here.

Yea, I went to a shady trans shop that told me to pull the pump, it'll be harder to get out because it's shaving the o-ring off, then bevel the edge of the bellhousing with a die grinder to help it slide back in.
I hate leaks, I ordered the bit and waited.
