Flushing a trans cooler
Would someone please comment on methods of flushing a B&M, or any other transmission cooler? That would be: What fluid to use? What to use for a pump? Do you pump new trans fluid thru after pumping solvent thru? Any help/correct methods would be appreciated. Thanks. Can anyone out there help me out w/cleaning & flushing out a trans cooler? Thanks. WJ.
I would flush it with it with fluid and not solvent.
If it is a normal service, just Ghetto flush it along with the tranny. With the fluid fully warmed up, disconnect the output side and aim it in a bucket. Run the car until you have dumped a few quarts of clean fluid through it.
If you really have a ton of crap in a plate type cooler because something fell apart, I'd consider getting a new one depending upon the mess.

There is a aftermarket Tranny Flush available in a spray can. I have used it before.. wish I would have wrote down the name.. haven't seen it again since I moved to Maryland.

I would check with a good tranny guy about that first. I'm not one by any stretch. Just an abuser
