Default 4l60e problems

I bought a 99 T/A with a brand spanking new 4l60e tranny only 500 miles on it. I had it tune for faster shifts but not too fast, about a month ago and i havent had any problems till now. Yesterday at a stop light i floored her from a stand still and i could here something grinding and clunking in the tranny, i almost cried. Fluids good !!!!! i have no clue when it comes to transmissions. I NEED SOME HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that is unfortunate. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

If I had to guess I would say it lost a sprag or a planet assy... but it could be a converter failure as well. Unfortunately if it is noisy and inoperative then it must come out for repairs. Shy of removal and disassembly there is no real way to pin the cause down.

If you would like to discuss some options feel free to give me a call.

Good Luck.

Good Luck with it!

Don't hesitate to call if you think you need some advice. I spent many years in New Car Dealerships and know Factory and Aftermarket Warranties very well.
