Default Need help badly, P1870

OK So after having my car for around 5 months I got a P1870 code. Apparently there is a GM TSB for this problem that calls for replacement of the valve body. So I spend $700 on that, and later that week the light comes on again, same code. I'm really at my wit's end on this and even the shop can't figure out what's wrong

I have a Edge Racing 3000 converter if that helps any

PO1870 happens where the converter is comanded t lock and it does not happen. There are several possible causes, 1 the valve body bore for the converter regulator valve is worn (Thats the GM TSB) . However since you have addressed that there are a couple more. The TCC or the PWM solenoids could be stuck or leaky. The Oring on the inout shaft could be bad or damaged. The bushings in the pump stator could be worn badly. Or of course the Converter clutch itself could be bad.
I would suggest removing the inspection cover and looking at the face of the converter . Check that the paint on the converter has not discollored from heat if it has then the converter will need to be replaced. Also you should modify the tuning and change then lockup percentage to the max settings.
Hope this helps

With my old TCI 3000 Streetfighter, I used to get
P1870 a lot before bumping up the pressure (reduced
force motor current at lower torque colums). It's a
small clutch and not real strong. Don't know about
Edge. But there are things that could be done to the
tune if you think the amount of slip is low and not
getting worse over time.
