Default Which converter for me?

Ok anyone here have a performabuilt converter. Wanting to see how its holding up.

Thinking of purchasing the converter and level 2 tranny package today.

What would be good for my 400WHP ta with a 150 shot?
ive had a 3600 stall in it for a lil while now. thinking of stepping it up to a 4000?
this is a 4l60e trans if that makes a diffrence

Do i want to switch or no?
And am i going to have problems with a performabuilt converter?
should i look into a diffrent brand?

Well I would advise you to do a search since there are quite a few out there however. I just checked and it looks like search isnt working at present. You likley howevr would get a better response if the title said opinions on performabuilt converters, We have howeve had excellent results with them IMO of course my opinion would be considered biased I am sure lol

I would run a Yank SS4000. With your power level and a 150 shot on top of that, you KNOW that it is from a reliable company and it will take the abuse.

Plus Yank now has a 3 year warranty on their converters. Performabuilt doesnt...

I have a vig 3200 right now and was told that it is a under rated 3600 whether or not it is............ its totally streetable and bought the car with it. If I were to buy one again I think I'd go for atleast a 3600-3800 and would probably end up ordering the 4000 in the end. I am sure its not that bad on the street. Do it up Will be kickass in the 1/4 on the jug!

Good advice Matt. I too would recommend a Yank SS4000. Awesome performance on and off the bottle, unbeatable warranty and legendary name .

I was going to question the comment about I'll be buying this brand only.

I also wanted to know if the car was street driven.

The .200 et improvement is normally a safe estimate.

You mentioned nothing about the delivery of your 150 shot. Some delay after you smash the T/B open or something else? There were some very inexpensive nitrous programers five years ago. Example some percentage of the full hit, some where in the first 60' - ramp up to the full shot when ever the hell you wanted. You talk about being able to dial a track!

when you spray a stall converter i think that the stall speed is related to engine torque. With a 4000 stall i think it will flash higher.
