I mow have a 2004 extended cargo van GMC Savana 3500. Runs Great has 160K but is worth fixing. not good with Trannys and mine is gone so I keep lookin. last 2 GMC's i had went over 280K so I know it is worth fixing as everything else works fine
The 4L80E, 4L85. 4L60, &65 are actually from the 1960's. Before electronics were added it was known as the Turbohydramatic or TH400, Only differences now as 4l80E is extra over drive gear, Lock up torque converter and the electronics upgrades. The reason they are so Expensive is they are very popular all over, racing, Work vehicles,( picture those Box Trucks with dual wheels on back or tool boxes). Also just gear heads that know they are probably the best (top 3 anyway ) and use them in off road or whatever. I;ve been looking for a wreck or used for under a grand and i've been looking almost a year. Good Luck

True that!

I have been purchasing Pallets of Humvee (No NOT Hummer) 4L80Es at Military auction for some great prices!
Usually under $50 per Unit, BUT...
Many of the Cores have been out doors and are water damaged.

So then a THM350 from 1970 is also the same as a 2010 4L70E?

Have you grabbed any of the Cases that I mentioned, about adding the Cooler Return to the Pump?

yes I have a couple type 2 cases on hand. but I haven sold a high power unit in a while. lots of box vans and tow trucks

I actually modified the case on my personal trans to ready it if I want to try it. Just need to unplug the pump.

but working on some other issues that I may need to consult with about.

I got two for $100 a few month's back. one had a hole in the bell housing and is a candidate for a bolt on bell... new case was only $75 at the local trans core guy.
