Default HP loss thru a Powerglide???

I have been told by a few people that the loss is the same as going thru a 6 speed and other's have told me it will be more?? I shouldn't really worry about it,but just curious! Anybody have any dealings with this?

autos have abit more than manuals traditionally...depending on which tranny your running anywhere from 20-35%. TH400s are the worst at robbing you some HP

Since the 6 speed was about 15% or so,then I will be looking at about another 5% or so loss. That's cool,I will just up the boost up a little, maybe?

LOL... When I 1st read this I was thinking... Why doesn't he just bump it about 5 psi?

I can tell you that at the H/P you are churning out I wouldn't go splitting hairs. Run it hard, have some fun and be safe!

I am stuck on #'s for some reason. But I know that with the auto it will be much faster and i won't have to worry about the #'s any more.

i don't think you'll get anywhere near the same rwhp numbers with a glide as a 6spd.

yes the glide is more efficient than other autos - but you're still going to have to deal with a non-lock-up converter.

I dyno like 415-420rwhp in the Camaro, M6 cars with the same combo do much more than that, but I run 10.9 and 123mph... Should be even more mph once I put a better motor converter in there. Online calcs say I should dyno 500rwhp.

I agree, M6 for the dyno win but mph is a great hp indicator. All in all the only thing that matters is what the car runs in the 1/4. Bob
