Default Problems with the tranny!! Help!

Ok heres the deal. Had my car out Sunday trying to run some times on the accelerometer. First run was fine. Did nice smokey burnout stalled the car up to 1500 (still have stock stall) with the 315 nitto DR's and took off and everything seemed fine. I was unhappy with the time so i was going to do it again. No burnout this time, took off went through 1st fine, 2nd fine, and then it was like it missed 3rd and just went to N and reved up. I pulled over and checked under the car, no fluid, checked the dipstick...bright red and full. Got in put it in D and would go nowhere. Pulled down in f1 and started moving and as long as i shifted up manually it would grab every gear. When i pulled up to a stop sign i had to pull it down in 1st again to get started. If i would start slowing down while in D from like 55 and gave it gas at like 35 there was nothing, so i would have to pull it down until it would grab a gear.

Got it back to my buddys house and checked the fluid again, this time it had a little black on the very end of the dipstick. I thought smelled burnt. Pulled it in his garage, Ran it through all the gears, R is fine, D and 3 there is nothing at a stop, its like I have 3 neutrals setting still (N,D,3). 2 and 1 both go into 1st and lurch the car. I can give it gas all day long with my foot off the break in D and 3 and it wont move anywhere. I check the fluid again Bright red in color, no black this time and full.

Today i go over to his house, look under the car...nothing. Start it, run through all the gears again several times, check the fluid same. Red, full but does not smell at all this time. What is the deal? Somebody help me please!

This weekend i am going to pull the pan off and look for metal shavings but other than that i have no idea.

By the way, I have already had this rebuilt once. Basically a 4L65E now, replaced everything with high performance stuff, added shift kit, new (stock) converter and so on. Probably only about 20-25k miles on it.

Sounds like you have broken either the input sprag or low roller clutch,

I would have to say you burned the 3/4 clutches.

If you would like to discuss it in detail feel free to give me a call tomorrow.

last time it when out it was kind of the same thing, except low tranny fluid, brown and stank. I learned my lesson there but it only had like 48K miles on the car then. But when i put it in D you could hear something trying to spin but the car wasnt moving. This time like i said, no sound in D or 3 just like i have 3 neutrals.

So i am just trying to gather everyones thoughts

No need for thoughts. Time for a rebuild.

Anyone else what? You were just told by 2 transmission specialists that you need it to be checkout and and rebuilt. Once your trans slipped like that you more than likely burnt the **** out of your clutches or broke something else.

This is exactly the same problem I had with my 95 Z (4L60E). For you, as it is (was) for me, it's time for a rebuild. (My FLT will be here next week). I'd discuss your tranny issue in more detail with one of the sponsors.

I trust them fine i just wanted to hear more you know just kind of like extra insurance.

I talked with FLT the monday after it happened about their trannys but not about what happened to mine but i just wanted to kind of get good idea of what was wrong to make sure it wasnt something little, or electrical. Everyone had me second guessing myself so i though i would get some good opinions from people on here.

Do you know exactly what all was, is wrong with yours since you had this happen to you also?

You don't need other opinions. Your transmission needs a rebuild...

Knowing what happened to the other guys transmission is sorta worthless because something else may have broken/wore out.
