I am installing a TCI 3000 and am wondering what kind of results you all have gotten from using 2 or 3 washers in the 2nd accumulator? Thanks guys.
I use 3 washers in mine. Because my PT4200 is so loose, the 1-2 shift firmness is really not too firm. 3 washers is definitely the way to go with a big converter. With a converter that is not what is considered really big, you could try 2 and see what happens. It's not too hard to pull the accumulator and add the 3rd washer if you want to try it.

I just stuck a TransGo gold(0.056") in mine. Is that the shim you're using and is it the same dimension?
By adding shims: you lessen the volume of the accumulator, which in turn speeds up the band apply time. So the smaller the accumulator reservoir, the faster the band applies.

Go with 3. Its snappy, and it will tip drinks over. 1-2 shift feels completly different, no hesitation at all. Although I'm not sure about e.t.'s I'd say at least a tenth in my case (slow truck)
